My Favorite Podcasts To Listen To In The School Pickup Line

Lately, I’ve been obsessed with podcasts and I’m honestly trying to figure out why I haven’t started listening to them sooner. Haha. Seriously though, I spend a lot of time in my car between school pick up lines and the all other kids shuffling I do. Podcasts seem to have a way of making the time fly by. Truth is I actually sometimes look forward to getting into the car and turning on my favorite podcast.

There are so many podcasts out there and they all have something different to offer. I have no one specific genre I listen to. I’m all over the place. It really depends on my mood and what I’m looking to get out of the podcast. So, my list has a pretty good variety of podcasts on it. But, I love them all!

How I Built This With Guy Raz

This is actually the podcast that started my podcast obsession. My brother and I were on a road trip and he asked me if I had heard of it. I hadn’t nor I had I ever really listened to any podcast. So, we put it on and I was immediately hooked. The moderator of this show, Guy Raz, interviews founders from some of the most well-known companies and gets all the deets on what it took to make their company what it is today. If you love learning the background story behind something, love listening to stories, or want to feel inspired then this is the show for you!

Bethel Church Podcast

I can not say enough about Bill Johnson-the pastor of The Bethel Church. He is an absolute genius. He has stretched my understanding of my relationship with God in so many ways. Bills overall purpose is to teach us how to understand the phrase “on earth as it is in heaven.” He constantly challenges my understanding and I always learn something from listening to his sermons. More often than not I’m rewinding the service or listening to it all over again to understand his deep messages.

Elevation Church Podcast

Elevation is a modern Christian podcast lead by Pastor Steven Furtick. I listen to his Sunday sermons every Monday when they come out-they give me a great positive start to my week. Pastor Steven Furtick is very passionate and has no problem being real. He also has a real talent for making the Bible come to life and make God’s word understandable. He’s also so good at making his stories and sermons resonate with our current everyday life.

Fat Mascara

This one for all my makeup and product girls. By day narrators Jenn and Jess are beauty editors. So, they are in touch with what’s cutting edge in the beauty industry. Jenn and Jess are super relatable and fun to listen to. There’s often beauty industry leaders/influences on the show and the girls are always reviewing/talking about really unique beauty products and trends. Oh, and Jess and Jenn are super honest. If a product is terrible-they’ll tell you!

Pod Save America

After the recent election, I have been so into politics and what’s going on in the world. Politics can be really dry and boring but these guys make it so interesting! The four hosts, who are former aides to President Obama — know their stuff and have a great sense of humor when discussing all this mess. These guys are unapologetic, honest, and continually push the boundaries (in the best way possible). Warning: If you’re Republican and a Trump supporter this is NOT for you!

The Influencer Podcast & Goal Digger Podcasts.

These are two others I would recommend. They’re more business related but if you’re  a lady in business or a blogger I would highly recommend checking these two out. Both these girls share so much business knowledge and inspiration.

Bonus: Wow in the World

I got a podcast for the kids too. But, if I’m being honest, I’m super into this podcast myself. Hosts Mindy Thomas and Guy Raz navigate kids through all the scientific wonders that happen in the world. These two make science fun, easily understandable, and there’s not one episode my girls haven’t laughed through.

What’s your favorite podcast? What am I missing out on?
