Yes! You really do need a facial. Before I give you the run down on the facial deets let me tell you a little story about my most recent facial.
Awhile back I had made an appointment at The Red Door Spa for a facial and never really thought much about the timing of it. Before I knew it, it was time for that facial appointment. The appointment landed right in the middle of one of the busiest weeks of my wedding planning. I had a to-do list about a mile long and time was precious. I was definitely running ragged but didn’t think I had the time to spend sitting at a spa getting pampered.
I thought about canceling a few times, but never actually went through with it. Thank goodness! Somewhere deep down inside I must have known I needed that facial. I needed an hour to breath, a chance to not think about anything else, and time to just be. Ahhh. It’s funny how us moms never think we need to take care of ourselves but it is so important. If we don’t take care of ourselves how can we take care of anyone else.
Back to the facial. It was amazing and my esthetician was to die for. I told her I was getting married in a few weeks and gave her a quick overview of my skin. She was able to solve a few skin issues I was dealing with (uneven skin, blemishes, dryness) and get my face ready for the wedding. I left The Red Door Spa with skin that was glowing!!
Lets get to the reasons behind why you need a facial.
Deep Cleanse. You’re thinking, “I use my Clarisonic, my face is plenty clean.” Wrong! Believe it or not your esthetician gets your pores cleaner then you could ever imagine. Think about how your teeth feel after you go to the dentist. Yup, that’s how your face feels and that’s how much extra cleaning it needs.
Reduce Blemishes and Breakouts. This little problem is closely related to keeping cleansing. Clean skin usually equals clear skin.
Moisturize Skin. This winter has killed my skin. I felt like I could not get enough moisturizer on my face! I let my esthetician know this and she was able to tailor my facial to deeply hydrate my skin.
Anti-aging. Facials help aid in cellular regeneration and counteract the day to day stress the environment puts on your face. Both of which help with anti-aging.
Reduce Fine Lines. Facials can help regulate your skins moisture and oil levels which eases the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The gentle face massage that happens during a facial is geared to increase the blood flow to your skin which also helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
**A few days after your facial expect to see breakouts or skin flaking. This is just all the dead skin and gunk that was in your skin leaving your pores! It will usually go away within the week.
Do you get facials regularly?
